This is a dark and disturbing book. There isn't a single character who comes out looking good, in true Flynn fashion. Camille, a deeply disturbed woman who has tried to release herself from her pain by carving words into her own body with a knife, returns back to her home to cover a story of two murdered girls for her newspaper. Camille Preaker is a newspaper reporter in Chicago. Her editor assigns her to return to her hometown in Wind Gap, Missouri to report on the disappearance of a young girl and the murder of another young girl 8 months ago. Her editor believes a serial killer may be at work. Camille has to deal with her very disturbed family including her mother Adora, half sister Amma and step father Alan. A good but very dark thriller.
