This book was such an interesting and disturbing look at family dynamics, so much that the murder mystery aspect really took second place. That played out in the narrative as well as in how everyone in the town seemed to treat the murders too, a lot of the characters really seemed to play the horror of it only lip service, and immediately focused on their own lives, problems, and the never-ending search for town gossip.

Easy to start reading, I found myself drawn into Camille's story as she goes home to small-town Missouri to see what she can turn up for a story about a two little girls being killed. But it was easy to figure out and even though she attempted to lead readers down a blind alley, it was still much too easy. Fascinated by the damage this family did to one another, though. Very creepy.
