What Members Thought

I enjoyed this book - lots of worldbuilding and seeing how Red London and its environs work. My heart went out to Kell - poor guy really goes through a lot. I'm not sure if I like Lila - she makes some...interesting choices that I'm not quite on board with, but I'm hoping her character arc will be more evident in book 3. The ending of this book....wow. I can't complain as I've done it to my readers as well - good thing I have book 3 in hand :).

I was go give this book 3 stars the beginning pulled me on leaving off from where part 1 ended. But once in the middle the story dragged and dragged a bit here and there. Not as good as the first one by a long shot and then the cliff hanger ending forces you to go to the third book. This is a typical middle book in a trilogy. There's a lot of stage setting. It also seems designed to make the reader think of both the Tri-Wizard Tournament and the Hunger Games as magicians descend on Red London to compete in a magic competition. Prince Rhy convinces our hero Kell to enter under as assumed named (because as the best magician in the world, Kell shouldn't be allowed t

A very enjoyable sequel focused more on character than plot. Not much really happens but it was so much fun to get to know more about all the characters from book one (and a couple of new ones) that I didn’t really care. I will say that I didn’t quite love just about everything in this like I did the previous instalment, namely: (view spoiler)
