I enjoyed this book - lots of worldbuilding and seeing how Red London and its environs work. My heart went out to Kell - poor guy really goes through a lot. I'm not sure if I like Lila - she makes some...interesting choices that I'm not quite on board with, but I'm hoping her character arc will be more evident in book 3. The ending of this book....wow. I can't complain as I've done it to my readers as well - good thing I have book 3 in hand :).

1st time reading 9/2017 4 🌟
I was go give this book 3 stars the beginning pulled me on leaving off from where part 1 ended. But once in the middle the story dragged and dragged a bit here and there. Prince Rhy convinces our hero Kell to enter under as assumed named (because as the best magician in the world, Kell shouldn't be allowed t ...more

A very enjoyable sequel focused more on character than plot. Not much really happens but it was so much fun to get to know more about all the characters from book one (and a couple of new ones) that I didn’t really care. I will say that I didn’t quite love just about everything in this like I did the previous instalment, namely: (view spoiler) ...more

I like how it took me a month to get through the first book, and less than a day to get through the second. *shrugs*

This was a fun ride.
