1st time reading 9/2017 4 🌟
I was go give this book 3 stars the beginning pulled me on leaving off from where part 1 ended. But once in the middle the story dragged and dragged a bit here and there. I just was hoping for more and hoping once the tournament start maybe things would get better. It picked up a bit more. But while I gave this book 4 stars was like the last 150 pages of this book kept me glued in and I couldn't put it down. My second book reading of V. E. Schwab and I notice she pulls

"Crossing worlds, killing royals, saving cities. The marks of every good courtship.”

This one was SO much fun! I'm so glad I continued the series! This one has so much more Delilah - her ability to work a situation to her way and work her way out. It's been so long since I read book 1, I'd forgotten how much I love both Delilah and Kell! I even missed Rhy!

This did not, however, end the way I thought. I can't wait to read the next one!

While reading this book pages I just kept turning pages so quickly and before I knew it I was done with this book. This is how good the second book is.

What I loved about this book is how the characters history and lives are brought into more depth. In the first book, Lila, was getting annoying. In this book she still has her moments but I realized that her history and her life up until this point has made her how she is. She's been so used to being alone that once she meets Alucard things begin

A very enjoyable sequel focused more on character than plot. Not much really happens but it was so much fun to get to know more about all the characters from book one (and a couple of new ones) that I didn’t really care. I will say that I didn’t quite love just about everything in this like I did the previous instalment, namely: (view spoiler) ...more

This is the second book in the Shades of Magic series. I liked the first book but this book was so boring for the first 350 or so pages. Nothing happens during those pages except a lot of characters dithering around with no development. When the magical games finally start the book becomes somewhat interesting. I liked the idea of the different Londons but this book barely touches on the other worlds staying almost entirely in Red London. I liked Lia in the last book but this time around found h ...more
