What Members Thought

First time reading 8/2017.... 5 🌟
I'll admit it was a bit of a slow start at the beginning with the audio book plus I was confused listening to this story. 151 pages into the audio. I decided this audio just isn't for me so I grabbed the book went starting from like page 60 to reread some of what I heard to make sense of the story. Then I was able to get into it with no confusion at all. I started flying through the story.
Loved it to the point I'll like to finish the series.

I loved this fantasy adventure. This world was easy to follow and get into. We follow Kell and Lillah on their journey to return something to one of the Londons. I enjoyed Kell and Lillah's banter the entire way. The different Londons Kell visited were all so different from the languages to the way people dressed. I think the most I enjoyed about this novel was the character development. Lillah was a real badass and doesn't need anyone. Kell has people around him but still feels somewhat alone.

3.5 Stars! It has some amazing concepts (parallel worlds with each having their own version of London? Yes, please!), awesome characters (especially Delilah Bard - a cross-dressing thief that it reminded me of Rey from Star Wars a lot, Kell wasn't bad either; the secondary characters were really interesting and I wanted them to get more time) and a great history of the world and magic and all that.
But that being said... Although entertaining and enjoyable, the story was pretty simple and predict ...more

This is a new favourite for me. I loved almost everything about it; the characters are well written, the plot pacing was amazing and the concept of multiple Londons grabbed me right from the start. My only regret is that I let it sit on my tbr for this long without reading it.

Just finished the collector's edition. I feel like I got the "deleted scenes" version. And feel special and included with the editor/author conversation. The cultural references and feels about self spoke to my heart.
