Shelves: young-adult, science-fiction, romance, alternate-history, group-reads, good-ideas-but, parallel-universes

Good ideas, and I really liked the futuristic alternate worlds, but the bloated romance killed it for me in the end. I was on board for revenge, for discovering who exactly Paul was, for shady plots and revelations, for science!, for twists and turns (most of which I actually guessed long before they happened), including the part where Marguerite ends up in a technologically backwards Russia where the Romanovs are still in power (all the possibilities! Overall, I really liked this book and I found the romance to be swoon worthy and I thought the multiverse concept was well executed and easy to understand and I found the characters likable and pretty well developed. My favorite place Marguerite jumped was to Tsarist Russia. It was the best developed of the universes she went to and the most interesting. I definitely look forward to reading the next book.
