It seems like every book club I'm in picked this to read either last month, this month, or next month! It's got a huge waiting list at my library but I finally got it and it was definitely worth the wait!

I enjoyed this a lot, and not just because two of the main characters are named Rachel and Tom. The writing was a little on the simple side, but the action moved quickly. I really liked Rachel as a character, even though she had her issues.
But man, after reading this you won't walk out with a positive view of marriage. How appropriate that I - Rachel - will be marrying a Tom in a few months. Let's hope my story doesn't turn out like this ;) ...more

Honestly, I have no idea why this book got so many 5 star reviews. I had to force myself to finish it because of my irritating compulsion to finish any book I start.
Where to begin? The characters in this book are assholes. Every single one of them. The main character (the girl on the train) is so wet that you want to reach through the pages and give her a good slap in the face to shake her out of the pity party she keeps throwing herself. Quick, melodramatic read. I just wish there'd been a character in it that I actually liked. The "trainspotting" premise was nifty.
