It seems like every book club I'm in picked this to read either last month, this month, or next month! It's got a huge waiting list at my library but I finally got it and it was definitely worth the wait!

My house back up against a gully (small canyon) and you can see and hear the people on the other side. (It has great acoustics! **2015 Reading Challenge W/Josh: #4 A Book Published This Year**

Holy shit. This book was amazing! It has been compared to Gone Girl but I hated Gone Girl. This book was so much better! I listened to the audiobook and I have to give props to all 3 of the narrators. They were perfect. Just perfect. Many people only gave this book 4 stars saying that it was because none of the characters were likable. But I actually loved that about the book. All of the characters were a hot mess. 3.5 stars. Interesting enough to keep my attention and to keep me reading, but I never could muster up much sympathy for any of the characters, so I never really cared what happened to them. I just wanted to see how it ended.

I enjoyed this a lot, and not just because two of the main characters are named Rachel and Tom. The writing was a little on the simple side, but the action moved quickly. I really liked Rachel as a character, even though she had her issues.

But man, after reading this you won't walk out with a positive view of marriage. How appropriate that I - Rachel - will be marrying a Tom in a few months. Let's hope my story doesn't turn out like this ;) ...more

3.5 stars. Strange, dark tale about strangers whose lives become intertwined thanks to a troubled woman. High rating for me, since I didn't like any of the characters. I think I was captivated with the strange little surprises that kept appearing.

What can I say? There were times I really enjoyed this book, and then others that I wished the author would hurry and get to the details I cared about.

I loved the fast paced pull and drive behind the murder mystery thriller, that made up most of the story. However, I felt the story became bogged down with emotional baggage and the predictable actions of characters.
