I'm very disappointed in this book. I went in with high hopes. I did not realize that the story was 95% political. I don't mind politics in my novels but it can't be the main subject matter otherwise I will become extremely bored. Which was the case with Wicked. The book was just over 400 pages but it felt like 800. I really had to force myself to get through it. As Randy Jackson would say from American Idol, "It was just ayight for me." This is an interesting take on the story of the Wizard of Oz told from the wicked Witch of the West's point of view. I liked it in the fact that the book makes you really like the Witch and understand her as a character, and her reasons for doing things through her life starting out from and infant to the her death.
