I read this on a train on a European vacation and it was perfect! Gripping page-turner with fantastic characters. Immediately fell in love with a good old-fashioned adventure story and understand why pirates remain such a vital part of our current fantastical culture.
Read this aloud to my son during a few long snow days. He's too young to be interested in the story, but my hilarious attempts at the pirate dialect kept him giggling. I loved reading it and couldn't put it down. Definitely something I would recommend to young readers.
