I really enjoyed this story and it's great to be immersed in the world of Tolkien's First Age of Men, Elves and Dwarves. Christopher Tolkien has stitched together from his father's partially completed writings a very worthy addition to the legends of Middle-earth.

For those who enjoyed The Silmarillion, this book is a special treat. The fleshed out version of the tragedy of Turin is beautifully written, even though extracted from Tolkien's unpublished works. One of the most moving stories of the Silmarillion, The Children of Hurin is as emotive as it is lofty. Thoroughly enjoyed.
