Ije the Devourer of Books
I always enjoys Josh Lanyon's stories. I find his main characters to be interesting and engaging. I also enjoy the way these books have just the right balance of mystery and romance. The main characters always find love along the way and this makes for interesting reading alongside the mystery.

This is the first Lanyon book that I have read which has elements of the paranormal and which is set in a world that is similar to our world but at the same time different because of the presence of magic.

Josh Lanyon created a world that is turned upside down. Magic (Magick) is normal and accepted. The world and its events are askew. Being suddenly immersed in that world puts the reader slightly off kilter and that is good, very good.

I enjoyed seeing Josh Lanyon's take on a genre that he doesn't normally write. I definitely enjoyed the story, the world and the characters but it did have a certain sense of insta-love.

I am increasingly discovering that, in general, short stories just aren't my prefered reading. I need to know more about the characters and their stories.

Definitely worth reading but too short and quick for me personally to fully enjoy.

This took a little bit for me to get into. Not a problem with the story, just the mood I was in. As usual Josh Lanyon's writing style is amazing, when you read one of his stories you can just feel the intelligence (<-- hope I spelled that right or that's not very smart :) ) of the story and characters. ...more
