I just love this series. Kit is just like me except I'm not a man, gay, or a writer but other than that ... :D Well, I can identify closely with a lot of his anxieties and issues so the story resonates well with me. Also, I love the humor and the snarky wit of Kit. My only quibble -- if it is necessary to do so under the pretense of some objectivity -- is that JX is a bit too perfect and his characterization not as nuanced as Kit, but really I don't care because I loved this book too much.

While I wasn't entirely pleased with the first H & M book, it serves as vital groundwork for this second one.
Kit, while he hasn't undergone any revolution in character, is trying. He's trying to put his life back together, he's trying to make sense of things and think of others, and, in this story, he's trying to help an old friend. His motives are a little murky but that's all right with me - he's trying. And the little expenditure of effort goes a long way to make Kit not only a more palatabl ...more

A very strong 2nd book for the Holmes and Moriarity series. Readers are served with a top-notch mystery, and getting to know the characters of the series in a much deeper level. The relationship part is also developing nicely... err... with enough frustrations and conflicts to keep readers on their toes.
The mysteries in this series are quite different from the much loved Adrien English series, they are more related to the protagonist's personal life and career, rather than "being at the wrong pl ...more

Brilliant. I loved Kit's self depreciating humour and so many of his little asides I would make! Excellent mystery too. I think I liked it better than SKHE.

I liked this one a lot better. The humor is hysterical, and the romance sweet -- if Kit can get his head out of his a$$.

Like any of Josh's stories this was excellent.

I adore Josh Lanyon's characters and writing style. This was another well written story. Unfortunately I didn't fall in love with story line this time but it won't stop me from reading Book 3. Kit and JX are a great couple and can't wait to read about their next crazy adventure.
