I know that the descriptions are nothing similar but am I wrong if I kept imagining this as Steve and Bucky fanfic? 😅

If I can say one thing about this book, I will choose adorable. I think I fell for Andy right from the bat (since I saw him from Nick's perspective). I also loved Nick right from beginning (because of the way Andy saw him).

I put this book off mostly because of the Casey McQuiston comparison in the blurb, since I really didn't gel with RW&RB, but wanting to read You Should Be So Lucky required me to try this one first, and I'm glad I did.

The book is relationship-focused, and both Nick and Andy are delightful characters. There are also some well-drawn secondary characters and a nice sense of time and place. My biggest issue with the story is that it is rather long, and the pacing dropped off in the latter part wher

An amazing portrait of one type of gay life before Stonewall. The innocence and the day to day experiences make this one something special. The stealth reference to Bayard Rustin was well done as well

DNF. The characters are just so distant and I really couldn’t care less about them. There’s a lot of telling and it just feels incredibly flat. I’ve read other Cat Sebastian books and liked them, so I’m not giving up on them. Just this one.
