We meet the amazingly annoying Guy Snowden and Lisa's new love Bill Daughten (sp?) and his three daughters. Also, a demon, wiccans, and a couple of Satanists, who quite willing to create havoc and outright murder for gain.

This has to be the low point of the series for me. It's well-written and well-researched, as always, hence saving the book from a 2 rating, but...but...

I've read a lot of Lanyon by now and though I sometimes grouse about abrupt endings and the occasional one-note character, I always come away feeling satisfied in every sense that matters. This series is full of good mysteries, although this one was a little confusing and a lot all over the place. At least in compared to the previous two stories. In this book Adrien finds himself surrounded by occult fanatics, his new to-be step family and then there is Jake.

I have a lot to say about the last two and most of it is spoilery, so I will save those for a moment. This occult storyline seemed to have a lot of spokes and sometimes it was really difficult to follow. (view spoiler) Also there are some funny little things I enjoyed such as figuring out why the character that a member of his book club kept writing was so much like him and the constant rotation of employees.

A good full length story, definitely more romance, although it's still not the focus so if that's what you are looking for you should look elsewhere.

This is book 3 in the series. let's just say i ran straight to book 4 b/c i had to know what happened.

The cult/satan topic of this mystery is not really my fave topic but it was written very well and in true josh lanyon style, it was an awesome read.

spoilers ahead....book 3 has me all sorts of pissed off! i'm very mad at Jake! almost didn't give it 5 stars for that reason but on the same note, that's exactly why i gave it 5 stars. it drew out such an emotion from me, not a happy one *glares at ...more
