The mystery is a fifty year old one taking away any urgency. This book is more Adrien accepting his increased life expectancy and sorting out his men, with all his exs making an appearance and bid for his attention, must be his aftershave or something!
There's historical depth to the forced hiding who you are theme. Seeing Adrien and Jake work together again reminds us how well they fit, when not fighting demons.
I'm still torn on the matter of Jake, I want them to work out in the fictional arena ...more

LOVED this series!
First read: 2/2/12
Second Read: 10/23/13
Reread: 1/6/16
Another reread: 12/24/16
As I finish this series yet again, I want more yet again. I would love some novellas from Jake's POV especially his first time meeting Adrien or what's going through his head during book 4 and 5! Heck, I would reread the whole series from his POV just to see what he could possibly be thinking for some of the scenes. I want a follow up story, the codas are a tease, I want more!!! ...more

A great ending to a fantastic series. This is the fifth book in the Adrien English series. While the mystery in this book isn't as compelling as in the previous books, Adrien's relationships with his family and his lovers--former and current--are the best parts of the story. In the end, Adrien's heart is mended, both physically and romanticly. I loved it!

This was the best of the Adrien English Mysteries. Up til 2:30. I how to know how this book ended.... 10 stars... Awesome read!!!!!

This is my first goodreads review write-up, and I normally wouldn't even bother to write one but this series prompted me to do so. I've never in my life blitzed through a story so much as the last 2 in this series, to find out what happened with Adrien and Jake (so this review kind of pertains to the whole series, which is a definite 5 stars for me).

I loved the book and I'm thrilled it ended well for the two of them. But like so many i wish we would have had a few more pages about them as a happy couple.
A minor thing that's been said before...the sisters where seriously at odds with the ages they were supposed to be. Natalie was never twenty-something... ...more
