I know! I know, what took me so long. I dunno, no excuse for mot reading one of the best books ever. Of course, the mystery nerd in me is doing a jig, knowing there are four more to read.

I simply plowed through this in one sitting last night. Couldn't stop myself, even if I tried.
I loved Adrien. His whole personality just spoke to me, and I knew we would/could instantly be friends.
The bookstore setting, the mystery writers get-togethers, the wild and ott friends, his loopy, free spirited mom, all the smart dry humor sprinkled throughout...I loved it all. However, I did guess who the killer was earlier than I had hoped, but it was still a really fun, engaging read and did not d ...more

I'm honestly not sure what to say about this one. Wasn't sure I'd be able to get into it. I didn't realize it was written in first person, which isn't really a style I usually enjoy, and things just kept annoying me. Maybe it's me, maybe it's an editing thing. I'm not sure. Things like...
"Dectective Riordan was big and blond, with neo-Nazi haircut and tawny eyes. Actually I had no idea what color his eyes were.."

“That's one of the oldest tricks in the world, Adrien-with-an-e.”

I read this book January 27, 2012. I waffled on listening to it when I found it on audible. Since I loved the series, I decided to give it a try. The narration by Chris Patton was enjoyable and I am ready to jump in and pick up the next book on audio. It has been a while since I read the books and this is a fun way to revisit the series.
