The wine/sex references were great--the Southern voice not so great--I've lived in the South all my life--we use the word y'all as a plural noun--not singular--Austin and Jeff left me feeling empty--think I'll go open a bottle of wine and start another Lanyon book!

I loved the romantic pair in this, a scholar (in this case, a Master of Wines)with a slight inferiority complex(in this case, stemming from family issues, or more specifically daddy issues rather than from any kind of health condition for a change) and a closeted law enforcer (in this case, a PI). What a emotional ride this story turns out to be. As always, Josh Lanyon excels in his characterisation, the rest just falls in place.
I'd say this one is heavier on the romance/relationship part and lesser on the mystery. And don't be fooled by the some time comical tone in the story, some of the emotions an struggles in the story is no laughing matter. It's easy to root for the main protagonist, Austin, he's the classic Lanyon hero: sensitive (this time, his nose as well), handsome, with the r ...more
