Wow! I don't even know where to begin...so good! I'm not very big into science fiction, but this book makes me reconsider. I loved everything about it. Brady and Can. The chemistry was fantastic. The story was engaging - I read it in one sitting, cause, yeah, it's that good.

And I even got teary. Lisa really gets the reader to connect with Brady...and there are all these feelings and he's confused and...okay rambling now...so I'll stop...but seriously, this book is so worth the read...

Okay, not quite sure what to think of this one, but I don't know if I would call it romantic. It was a compelling read and I was rooting for Brady from the beginning.

Cam has been missing for years after being taken by the faceless. The faceless are the big bad boogeyman, aliens who kill off humans like swatting flies. Sci-fi is a genre many people does not consider, but I learnt time ago that it is perfect for dealing with ethical questions which have always unsettled the human mind. You can find that in this book perfectly reflected. Besides a beautiful and heart-shattering love story, Dark Space deals with issues as belonging and humanity. Cam spends four years living with an alien race, and despite witnessing how they killed his crew and being raped by his “master”, he does not hate them. In fact, when he comes back to humanity in a peace mission, he realises is more of an alien in the space station than he was surrounded by the faceless. His race no longer recognises him, and distrusts him. Only Brady seems to be able to trust him, mainly because he shares his mind and his feelings. As for Brady, he is struggling with survival in a hostile atmosphere, missing his home and family and starving for human touch. Cam is the answer to his needs, as their contact is necessarily physical to keep Cam alive. He hates the faceless and what they mean, but at the end he finds more compassion in the theoretically cruel beings than he found between his fellow soldiers, so… What is the meaning of being human? Belonging to a race, or being able to listen, understand and renounce?
I honestly recommend this book to everybody, even if you are not a fan of this genre. If you are not interested in philosophical questions, surely the love story between Cam and Brady will break your heart. It is really that good. Give it a chance. You will not regret it!

Space books aren't really my thing, but this one was good. I had some problems with the treatment of the characters and the use of various terminology, things I probably wouldn't have noticed if I'd read this when it was released, but can't avoid now. It definitely could have been shorter as there was too much repetition. Also, the forced proximity thing just didn't work for me in this case mainly because Cameron would die without Brady which made their connection circumsp ...more

I really did not enjoy this book. The premise is interesting and the initial build-up was interesting ... however, once the plot began to unfold - I found that I was not really into the story at all. I found parts of it melodramatic and the certain scenes, (view spoiler) unnecessarily disturbing. There was this very strange uncomfortable, predatory vibe that wove its way through this book - I have a hard time pining down what exactly caused this - but ...more
