What Members Thought

My favorite of this series so far.

Enjoyable update to the series. I will say, I thought this was the final book, so I was a bit concerned as I read that there were so many loose threads. But then I saw at the end that there will be another book coming out next year, which makes me feel better.
Some relationship development, one of the most enjoyable of the series, though still a little distant.

So far my favorite of the series. This book takes place 2 months after the events of book 2. Jason and Sam plan to spend the weekend together but before the weekend ends Jason finds himself almost abducted and involved in a car accident. To keep him safe while Jason heals, Sam manages to talk him into going home with him to Wyoming. Readers get to meet Ruby, Sam's mother and get more back story involving Sam's relationship with Ethan. Needless to say Jason is pulled into consulting on an art cas

The story was spot on. I loved the mystery aspect and the relationship aspect. A good read.
I give it 4 stars for the jarring—albeit, brief—mentions of realworld politics. It drew me out of the story and I will hope going forward the author leaves that out of future works. As a reader, I want to escape news of politics and just enjoy a good mystery. If I want to read about politics, I’ll read politians so-called autobiographies.
Edited to add: Also, a flight from Cheyenne to Colorado Springs takes ...more

3.5 stars
Jason and Sam get to spend some unintended time together when Jason is shot/injured by an unknown assailant. Jason is recovering under forced sick leave and is confounded with doubts and issues that crop up due to Sam's nature. Sam is such a complex character and as the story is from Jason's POV, Sam's motivations and thought are unknown to us. But I appreciated that both of them talked. The best part of the book was the relationship aspect.
