My favorite of this series so far.

Enjoyable update to the series. I will say, I thought this was the final book, so I was a bit concerned as I read that there were so many loose threads. But then I saw at the end that there will be another book coming out next year, which makes me feel better.

Some relationship development, one of the most enjoyable of the series, though still a little distant.

Josh Lanyon is always great at writing mysteries. I am becoming more and more invested in this team of Jason West and Sam Kennedy. Their work is technically separate from each other but from time to time they help each other. Their romance is a pretty slow burn compared to many other m/m romance couples. Then in The Monet Murders, felt like strangling him and prayed to any deity he wouldn't break my heart like Jake in the Adrien English series did. Now with The Art of Murder, I think I'm more in love with him than ever. I'm glad Josh chose to portray the side of Sam I didn't expect to see (as well as his relationship with his mom). It's surprising how Josh could take me up and down the emotional roller coaster along with Jason, all ...more
