Josh Lanyon is always great at writing mysteries. I am becoming more and more invested in this team of Jason West and Sam Kennedy. Their work is technically separate from each other but from time to time they help each other. Their romance is a pretty slow burn compared to many other m/m romance couples. Because of their jobs and the different places they need to be to do them. Also because the mystery is the more immediate plotline. Kale Williams's narration is exceptional. I enjoyed The Magician Murders, although I find Jason West irritating from time to time. Overall the story was good and the ending...oy (in a good way)!
