I cannot find the words to say how much I enjoyed this book. I am always leery of books that deal with any type of PTSD. Too often, the words on the pages do not reflect the realities that I have seen in my nursing practice. But, Aftermath was spot on. Neither of the main characters is miraculously healed overnight. I absolutely adore this book! It was written beautifully and it tugs to your heart in so many levels. Austin Huntley is a family man who lives his life in order. He's got a nice career and a nice family and is simply content with what he's got. Cameron Nash on the other hand is an antisocial mechanic with very little patience when it comes to dealing with - err life. All the previous negative points I quoted are still there. This time I found also the action often repetitive, for ex. the anxiety attacks, and the end seemed to me even more rushed than I had perceived it before.

As soon as I found out there was a second book released, I had to re-read this first book in Aftermath. In overall once again I loved the whole storyline. Austin and Cam's story was hard, being kidnapped by a mad man was well written. And their romance was realistic enough, too.
