Review

If ever there was a hero that could use some trauma therapy, its MacRieve. Cole needs a Lorean therapist character badly. It is hard to review the book without giving spoilers as to why one of the Hotter and Hot Twin is so messed up and why his Fated Mate brings out the worst in him. His worst is very bad.

I have empathy for him so even his most awful behavior I can forgive because he is just so unselfish aware and so earlier in the admission of what really happened to him. This book is very emotional touching in this way.

Chloe is the bomb. I love her. She is kickass and I adore being in her mind as she works through things. The father deal not so much but everything else is great.

Finding out about another Lorean culture is wonderful. I wish we had more time in that realm and culture. The sexy times (even when messed up by past issues) are some of the most erotic I have read by Coie. Will is a dirty talker and Chloe loves it.

The secondary character we have here are fun but much of the gang is missing and therefore the humor. Still, I don't mind a darker book once in a while and Chloe is going to be a great addition to the kickass girl squad.

This book is basically a shake and stir of IAD elements with a new Lorean popping in. This is not a bad thing but what keeps the book from being a five star is that we are missing some stuff (Chloe getting a girl gang, really getting to know the new culture, couple time that is just couple time as in a real HEA instead of a cliffhanger to the next book) and the time between Will's trauma behavior to new perspective is rushed. We should have hung out in Chloe's homeland for a while, I think. This isn't my favorite in the series but I am sure I will enjoy it more on the reread. ...more

Escapism at it's freaking most bestest.
This is a rommmmmmance book. And it has steamy sex scenes. It's not classic literature. What it is is funny as fuck and with flawed characters that read like real people.

Very good.

This book did suck me in; however, it still had way too many eye-roll, anger inducing moments for me.

Will was too full of angst, disrespectful, downright mean, and rude. He has had centuries to get the fuck over it. "You speak of change as if it's easy. I'm nine centuries old." Nice excuse asshole. "There was clearly so much going on in his head, yet he'd rather let her dangle in the dark than share any of it."

Audiobook Review - Robert Petkoff can do no wrong in my book. I LOVE his voice and could listen to him read the phone book. I especially love his Scottish Brogue and cannot get enough. If you have not gotten on IAD/Robert Petkoff train yet, something is SERIOUSLY wrong with you! HIGHLY Recommend listening!
