Awesome book.

What a pleasure to read. Unearthly is the kind of book that's hard to put down. I literally did not want it to end, it was that good.

Unearthly is the story of Clara, a 16 year old girl who is part human, part angel. She is beginning to come into her powers and learning about her purpose in life.

What makes this story stand out from other angel books in this genre is that it works.

1) Great story - Cynthia Hand weaves a fantastic story. She has thoroughly researched her subject matter

Such a nice paranormal young-adult book this is *high fives Cynthia Hand* -- seriously, it’s good stuff, if one doesn’t mind the occasional stereotyped YA moment. But overall, Cynthia manages to tell a lovely story, similar to others, yes, but different in so many ways, like the romance -- so CUTE. I'm a total sucker for enemies-to-lovers relationships. :D
That said, I’m very scared to pick up book 2. It doesn’t look good for Team Tucker. *sad face* That douchebag Christian is going to ruin it. I

In the last couple years, there have been a slew of angel YA books with pretty covers. I had heard this one was different than the rest, but still hesitant to read it. Thanks to the Bingo game, I finally got around to it and Unearthly is a GREAT book.

The entire story felt so mysterious to me, which was both good and bad. Clara recently learned that she is part-angel and has a "purpose" to fulfill, though she doesn't know what it is. She (and the reader) isn't given much more info than that initi

Three and a half stars...I was a little miffed that the mom wasn't sharing or teaching Clara more. I mean she is your daughter for mercy's sake! Then Clair got perturbed, just as any human would. I immediately caught on that it could only mean that the mom was key in Claire's purpose. I found it odd that the angel friend didn't play a part in the ending in some way or another. What about the brother? I liked the slow build of the relationship. Well done. Making the end totally believable... Afte ...more

I don't get the hype surrounding this book. It's your typical Young Adult book, with all the high school drama and girl moping over a boy stuff, I had to remind myself that this was a paranormal book because there sure wasn't alot of supernatural or paranormal action going on, just your average teen drama. ...more
