I sat watching the Buy From Home Channel with my dead aunt Lillian and wondered what my life would've been like had I not just eaten an entire carton of Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Therapy with a mocha chaser.

I love Charley more each book this heroine is fearless (maybe/sometime) what the heck she will go in gums blazing and hope like hell, to get out of all scraps unscratched which does not occur often bruised ribs and such the like, but when u have a virtual killing machine tied to u, things work out real well except when he wants to off your old man yikes!!!! well he did fire a gun at her..... But i love Reyes oh how i love Reyes i tell u he is my kind of guy, this one is a keeper start this serie

I liked this one but it definitely had its ups and downs for me. The mystery plot meandered a bit and I thought that a lot was made of Charley's PTSD symptoms only to have them pretty much disappear whenever it was convenient. Charley was also a bit more of a damsel in distress in this one. I don't remember her having to call other people to save her as often as in this one. I understand it with the demons but she even needed rescuing from the human "bad guys".

These books are like popcorn movies - enjoyable but forgettable. It had only been 5 months since I read the last one and I had totally forgotten a couple major plot points that were quickly brought to my attention. This one is about her recovery from the events of the previous book, a case where a woman has been gaslighted since she was a kid and bank robberies.

I LOVE these books, they are so much fun to read. I love Darynda's sense of humor, it's right up my ally. I wish there were more books written in this style.
