I don't even know what to say. This book was amazing. This series is amazing.

I'm going to cry when it's over. But for now I will bask in my utter joy.

(p.s. Does anyone else finish the new book in this series, but feel utterly unable to leave this world yet, and so immediately re-read from book 1? I do that. Every time. I don't do that with any other series. It's weird... *rolls in pile of KD books* ... not ready to leave yet!)

So good. So, so good. Let's talk about a couple thin I don't even know what to say. This book was amazing. This series is amazing.

HUGH WATCH! - in addition to saving his right-hand dude, which as I mentioned above, will likely matter greatly to Hugh ... now that I've read some snippets from Hugh's books, I caught that bit about the White Warlock at the end. I was wondering how they were going to fold Hugh back into the story in such a way that Curran wouldn't instantly kill him. Innnnnnterrrrrresting... ...more

UPDATE (10/17/16) - I did a reread just for the audio version and it was just as good as the printed copy.

ORIGINAL REVIEW (9/22/16) Talk about delivering the goods! Holy crap! I am freaking speechless at how good it was. I am now rejoicing that the audiobook was delayed--I get to do it all over again as soon as that comes out. No #9 book should be this good.

Just....wow!

Maybe I'll be a bit more coherent after my 2nd read. o_O ...more

By book nine my interest in a series is usually starting to waver, but this book renewed my passion for the series. It's amazing to see how far Kate has came, the casual reminders of the first book was a great way to reinforce that. In many ways it feels like Kate has came full circle, yet she still has miles to go. So much of this story I loved but none more so than the relationship between Kate and Curran. With one word he affirmed his place as my number 1 literary male.
