A great addition to a great series.
Mercy is on her own in this one, trying to save Adam and the pack that have been kidnapped. Facing a lot of responsibility as the person in charge and the one the remaining pack would look to for guidance, she has to find help where she can get it.
Mercy gets beaten up a lot in this story, too. First she's in a car accident, then she faces fae assassins and last but not least, she fights vampires. She might be weaker than most werewolves and vampires but she kn ...more

Mercy Thompson #7, Kitchen Sink Edition. As in, everything but the kitchen sink is included here. The pack is kidnapped, Mercy is alone and calls on all of her friends (and some enemies), there's special guest appearances by all the big bads, and it ends with a triple challenge, psycho vampire style.
Still loved it. Mercy's my girl. I loved learning more about Zee's son, Tad, as well. Very cool. ...more

Another fantastic Mercy story. The Pack is kidnapped so Mercy has to save them with some help from allies. New Wolf friend, Asil, The Moor, is a powerful though a bit dangerous and unstable.
Surprisingly Frost is the name of the villain not an indication of the weather or temperature.

I have to admit that this series dipped for me in the middle and I lost interest in keeping up with each new release around book 5. River Marked was a good improvement, but I didn't love it either. Frost Burned finally got me invested again.
In this book, Mercy reminded me a bit of Harry Dresden - often beaten down, outclassed, but with just enough tricks up her sleeve to get out of serious trouble. She always fights for the underdog, and for what's right, and it is so fun to read (even when she ...more

Great. Mercy was good here, and Asil. Adam was still pretty meh but I could deal. Stefan was around, and Zee.

Picked up this series after a five year break! Wasn't really into the story but it could just be because it's been so long. I remember enjoying previous books. I will pick up the next book at some point.
