I loved Jessamy and Galen's story. This takes place when Rafael has only recently come to power, 400 years before the rest of the series takes place. Though Jessamy has a broken wing Galen learns not to see her as weaker than other angels, she simply can't fly. And rather than being controlling and overprotective, as authors often portray Alpha males and their physically weaker mates, he is happy to sit back and let her make her own choices.
