I forget how fast a read these book are. It's so action packed that you don't want to put it down. :) please read book 8.5 before this. So you won't feel blindsided by Owen.
I like that this isn't so much about people wanting to kill the Spider because that is getting old fast. However the guilt trip way of thinking is getting to me... Everything is always their fault... Even when it's obviously not, she/he tends to spin it in a way that it is... Sort of lame.

3.75 stars. Another solid Gin book, focusing on a single event and this time centred around Jojo and Sophia's past. I was glad to see the reestablishment of Gin's relationship with Owen, and would have rated this book higher had it not been for the feeling that this was a bit of a place-holder for the eventual arrival of M.M. Monroe. That showdown can't come soon enough, having been foreshadowed now for about four books.

I still like Gin and the rest of the cast and the world here. I think some of why this is 3 vs. 4 stars was more about my mood than the book itself.
