4,5 estrelas

I give Cinder a 4.5. It was really a very good book, easy to read and a different take on a futuristic Cinderella story. I would have given it a 5 except that I have to admit it was easy to figure out the twists.
I was pleasantly surprised to read Cinder. I had no idea I would like this book as much as I did, as I am not a big Sci-Fi reader. I loved how the author added certain familiar parts to Cinderella and then very much made it it's own story. ...more

What a cool book! I always enjoy seeing how different authors re-imagine fairy tales. Ms. Meyer did not disappoint. Some of the technical stuff got in the way of the story for me...and I really would have liked to see more develop between Cinder and Kai...but I certainly appreciate Cinder being a kick-ass young woman. She may be stuck between a rock and a hard place, but she finds ways to shine and push past the boundaries others put in her path. I look forward to seeing this story continue and

What did I think... I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! I want the next one and I want it now... and if possible the 3rd in the series would make my week too. I'm not entirely sure that the author has got that far, but I can dream. Cinder is a cyborg/human mechanic. I like to think of her as enhanced but it seems that the Earth she lives on see's her as a 2nd class citizen. She lives with her guardian and 2 step sisters... does any of this sound familiar???? That would be the end of the comparisons, except fo

I'm not sure 4 stars is my real rating. I think it's closer to 4.5...maybe. It may depend on which day you ask me. However, I liked it so much that as soon as I was done, I tossed the book onto my eldest daughter's bed and said "You need to read this." I wouldn't say it's my favourite book, but I'd absolutely read it again. In fact, most likely I will as soon as the sequel is released.
I definitely think it's one of the most original takes on the Cinderella tale that I've read in a very long time ...more
