A very original take on Cinderella's story in a futuristic world with advanced technology.

Cinder is a very strong character and I thoroughly enjoyed listening to her story that includes unexpected twists and turns and quite a likable male lead.

The cliffhanger ending makes me want to start Scarlet right away and see how things play out for Cinder and Kai.

Wow... that was good. I don't think I have read a book of this length this fast since the last Hunger Games book.

I already ordered the next two, but they will not be here until tomorrow.. what am I supposed to do until then?! I must find out what happens now!

Cinder was a sci-fiction/steampunky/cyborg re-telling of the Cinderella story. I really enjoyed it and am looking forward to the sequel.

The beginning feels very true to the original tale expcet for the fact that Cinder is a cyborg. Her mother and father are dead, her adopted family (except her sister Pearl) hate her, she has little to no personal rights, and she is blamed for everything. I haven't read any adaptations that I can remember at the moment, but even if I did, this would be the best one. All I can say is-Wow.

Every element of the classic story was there and even though I could see what was going to happen, it was delivered so well that I didn't care. Some would say that the ending was a cliffhanger. Being that the series is continuing, I feel more like it was 'chapter' to the story and didn't feel like a cliffhanger (which you know I hate with the heat of 1000 suns).

If you couldn’t tell from the summary, Cinder is a loose retelling of the Cinderella story. Cinder is a cyborg who was adopted as a child by her father, who soon after died and left her in the care of her nasty stepmother. As a mechanic, she is responsible for the mechanical upkeep of her stepmother’s household machines. In her spare time, she dreams of escaping to a life of freedom on her own.

What could have been a somewhat interesting tale about a cyborg who wants to be treated as an equal qui

Very interesting read. Didn't know what to expect but I've seen this on everyone's lists as a not to be missed read. I didn't like the ending. I guess that part of Cinder's story ended but I want to know what happens next! ...more
