Vlad is one of my favorite characters in the Night Huntress/Night Huntress World series. Never have I met a character more imposing, more powerful, and probably more sexy than Vlad. But for me, this story just seemed to have not enough Vlad.

Maybe it's because I'm not that keen on Leila's character. Yes, she has awesome powers, she's pretty spunky and fierce when she wants to be, and she stands up to Vlad where no one else would dare. But something about her fell flat for me. Maybe it was a cult ...more

This book is generic. That's why it gets three stars. Is it bad? Nope. But it is generic. This book is "couldn't be picked up in a lineup" generic. And I'm sorry, because other books by Jeaniene Frost aren't. And the world she built wasn't but this book is full of cardboard outlines of characters who act in the exact way you'd expect from a paranormal romance to get to the happy ending. Perfect... *swoon*
Everyone just HAS to read this series!

*Be aware or possible spoilers*

First after she left and he just let her, I started cheering for Max because let's be honest, love triangle and lots of jealousy is great in any book (as long as the jealousy comes from the guy of course)
But then he got her back his way, and we found out how his pride stopped him from getting her back at first, and he kept thinking she'll apologize and come back and then he though she'd died.
