★★★★★ Man-oh-man! LOVED this one. I thought it was going to be too dark for me... but, it pulled me in and wouldn’t let go. It is definitely going on my list of “My Best Books of the Year for 2014.” I already ran out and bought the next one to start right away. Plus, although it is now out in PB, I bought the first one in HC to match the second, as it is something I want in my permanent library.

Wow, just wow!!!! This is the first Anne Bishop book I've read, and I've got to say the world & character building is first-class all the way.

Lately, every book I've read without a strong kick-ass heroine has been extremely disappointing and yet this gem was quietly sitting on my bookshelf waiting to be discovered.

Meg comes across as a shy helpless human, but she doesn't smell like prey and that confuses all the shifters. She has led an extremely sheltered, trapped life, but has a strong sense ...more
