Shelves: ya, vampires, werewolf, 1st-in-series, steam-punk

I enjoyed the jaunt into the past world of the Soulless series. The story was cute and fun I will definitely read some more, and this has sparked my interest to finish up the soulless series as well.

The only thing that kept me from giving the book 5 stars was the lack of adult care or concern of the goings on of 14 year old girls. Being a covert recruit I would expect a bit more explanation on the workings of the school. A bit more explanation of the first night at the school after the attack. ...more

Very typical for Gail Carriger. Excelent as always.

If you love the whimsy and humor of the alexia tarabotti books you will love this as well. Sophronia is your average tombay in an era where it is deemed indecent. And so the adventures of entering a finishing school that is not what it seems begin.

As said in the begining the story, the characters and the premise are interesting and engaging. I find it really excelent.
