Cat finally accepts her weirdness, even though it does take her some time to get there.
In this crazy adventure Cat and her allies are trying to prevent a war between the vampires and the ghouls. I was a little nervous to read this book, I've heard mixed reviews about it. By mixed reviews I don't mean any bad reviews just people saying they didn't feel the normal Cat and Bones connection that we had in the past. I personally have to disagree. I thought the vulnerability we saw from Cat at the thought of facing a life without Bones was very touching. I enjoyed seeing them not arguing like we have in previous books, and I also enjoyed the time they spend apart, it served as a reminder that

The antagonists in the book are a direct analogy to the white power movement in America. I appreciated the author showing how ridiculous they are. I also liked how the leader was portrayed at the end. (Hint: It wasn’t good.)
There was lots of action and some danger and some weird bedside scenes but the climax fell short. It was a good fight scene but there never was a moment where one might think the heroes would lose. No one got seriously injured except the bad guys. It was anticlimacti ...more

This was an easy read. It was like filler and set up to the next novel.
I didn't catch on to Marie and what she was trying to achieve with the ghouls until it happened. Sneaky lady.
Other than that, nothing stood out as being that earth shattering.
