To quote one of my favorite movies "sex sex sex thats all they think about!" (Monty pythons life of brian).
It seems so accurate when speaking about this book and series in general.
This whole trying to get merry pregnant storyline is starting to wear thin. Sex with this one to save them.. sex with that one to form an alliance. Sex sex sex.
I like erotic books but i just got a bit sick of the sex that i started to skip the sexy scenes...as much as i could anyway.

This was another re-read. This Tuesday and last brought some many new books that Ive been waiting for I'm not sure to continue on re-reading this series or not. I loved this book. It had so much emotion in it I cried. I remember now why I love this author so much I once said I'd read blurbs on cereal boxes if she wrote them. She wrote one of the Star Trek TNG books and I remember being impressed with her writing even then- but alas she was already into selling Anita Blake that she unfortunately This was another re-read. I remember now why I love this author so much I once said I'd read blurbs on cereal boxes if she wrote them. She wrote one of the Star Trek TNG books and I remember being impressed with her writing even then- but alas she was already into selling Anita Blake that she unfortunately never stooped to write another Star Trek novel. it seemed to me she might have already had some other books out when I had read that Star Trek novel and they were classified as horror and as a general rule I don't read horror so I was disappointed and didn't read any. Star Trek TNG was already over half through it's series run when I became interested in it. I was TDY in South Carolina- Sumpter and when I got home from work I'd turn on the TV and watch reruns of Star Trek TNG and Quantum Leap.
So we didn't see much of the evil Cel in this book- he's still off getting tortured. We didn't see Taranis either but we spent the whole book wondering why he's so desperate to get us to the party. Now he has accused our guards of crimes- another ploy to see Meredith. At the end of the book, we see Andais repeatedly calling Meredith Seelie. Meredith reminds her that she is Unseelie but Andais brushes her off. With doubt in her heat she adopts one Cel's guards- but she doesn't trust him. and we know this is going to bite her in the ass in the next book- or not- I don't remember.
Similar to Anita, Meredith can not refuse anyone who needs her help - tender hearted to a fault but yet she can be vicious to protect those she loves- perfect heroine if you ask me. the fantasy woman I'd love to be.
The sex scenes are hot enough to border on pornography but so very interesting and creative- I have to wonder where she gets all this stuff and I do picture her getting her freak on - on various surfaces in her house- But then I remember the exasperation of the late Tom Clancy when the Navy kept wanting to know who leaked info to him- after awhile - he was like " come on - give me credit for some imagination" I understand the Navy those of us who are not authors are sometimes amazed at the imagination of writers. Laurell's sex scenes definitely amaze me- Where does she get this stuff? ...more
