Why do I keep hoping that Ms. Hamilton will turn this series around. I loved the Anita Black books but the latest ones have just been worthless for me. IF you have a need to keep up with the series I would recommend borrowing from your library. At only 158 pages, and this hardcover costing $16.95 there are much better uses for your money! This book reminds me of Micah, which I also hated as a comparison. Just my 2 cents worth.

This book was unsatisfying. I was like a quick phone call with a friend instead of having a weekend visit. Too short and no time to really connect. This series picked up more characters. The one thing this series did not need is more male characters! No real progress is made in Anita's relationships. At least we get some kind of mystery and less of Anita Blake dating and healing bruised egos. I am grateful I got to spend some time with some of my favorites among Anita's men. It seemed like there should of been more to the story.
Especially with it only being 120 something pages.
This should be called a Novella not a Novel
But overall the shortness of the story, it was okay.
