This book focus more on the zombies in Anita Blake's world than the vampires but the vampire are still present. It's refreshing that the zombies aren't the traditional kind like in the movies. It's a pretty dark and gory book but also enjoyable. Anita gets on the bad side of to different villains. The first being a rich man who wants her to raise a zombie using human sacrifice but she refuses but he does not take no for an answer.
