This is the first installment of the Angels of the Dark series. This is an off shoot of the Lords of the Underworld novels.

We've seen Zacharel in three previous LotU books. He is always cold,(quite literally, he drops snow from his wings), calculating, and a man of few words. We know practically nothing about him coming into the series.

It started really really good!, but halfway through it went completely meh!... didn't quite like the characters, the plot wasn't that interesting and it just wasn't good, more like sort-of-ok.
I got tired of Zacharel's über-alpha-wanna-be attitude that sometimes came off as him being a jerk and Annabelle's pep talks to herself.
The whole twin brother thing at the end just didn't quite make sense... or maybe I just didn't care anymore.

Spin-off of the LOTU series. This book is waaay too similar to previous books in the original series. I felt like the author put no effort at all into the weak plot and uninspiring main characters. Maybe I've outgrown this author as I prefer the gritty action of urban fantasy novels these days. ...more
