Wicked Nights (Angels of the Dark, #1) in SOS: Serious Overload of Series

There were definitely some similarities between the characters (Koldo-Amun, Paris-Thane, possibly a Xerxes/McDonald's guy-Qhuinn/Blay storyline) this was a wonderful story. Zacharel and Annabelle (teehee, rhyme time) were a perfect match for each other. Rather predictable twists but here, fun fact. The reason pop music is, well, popular, is because being able to predict how the song will go gives our brains an endorphin rush. It is literally addictive music. Since this author is sort of a pop author of PNR it makes sense that the reason her books do so well is partly because the woman can freaking write (don't get me wrong, she's no Dostoyevsky, but she can craft a good story), but also partly because we know how the books are going to go and it gives us even more feel-good rushes when we are able to predict the twists. Obviously there is more to it than that. I'm just saying. That could be part of it. Showing male skin on covers probably helps too, as the female brain can process arousing images within hundredths of a second. So, before you even realize what you are seeing your brain is like "Gimme some sugah bay-bee! Woo!" And with that I really think I need to go to bed. Man I suck at reviews. Oh well, maybe I'll reread this later and wince and just edit it. You can do that you know. I didn't know that until recently. Anyway, I edited one review, what was it? Blood of Eden I think. Had a bit of a weak ending so I fixed it. I'm pretty proud of myself for that new ending. It's pretty clever if I do say so myself. You should check it out, and put the book on your don't-touch-if-it's-the-last-book-on-earth shelf. Which sounds like a shelf I need. No, not really, it just sounds cool.

Wicked Nights
Another wonderful series to look forward to! With so many authors doing the Fallen angel thing I'm hoping that G.S. will do it up with a bang & maybe something a little unexpected! Not really doing it in Wicked but...I hope she will pull out something new or fun instead of the same things everyone else is doing! I'll still read anything G.S. writes, she's one of my fav authors & is always reliable for a good read! ...more

It started really really good!, but halfway through it went completely meh!... didn't quite like the characters, the plot wasn't that interesting and it just wasn't good, more like sort-of-ok.
I got tired of Zacharel's über-alpha-wanna-be attitude that sometimes came off as him being a jerk and Annabelle's pep talks to herself.
The whole twin brother thing at the end just didn't quite make sense... or maybe I just didn't care anymore.
