Spoilers for previous 2 books.
This picks up where the last book left off nicely. There are things that happened in the previous 2 books that now have to be dealt with/come to terms with; Em's death, marriage (and pregnancy), blood rage. Their world grows a bit with the support of the Madison Coven, Fernando (Hugh's partner- he died a long time ago), Chris (Diana's friend), Gallowglass & Jack and other people introduced when Diana and Matthew time traveled to the 1590s).
