I have to admit that I put this one off for a bit. I haven't really been into anything too dark and Jason and Mahiya's story sounded like it might be too much for me at the moment. But a couple of challenges pushed me to read it and, well, I really should have known to trust Nalini Singh. She's one of my favorite authors and does not disappoint here.

SN is such an amazing writer. I find that if a book is "longish" I need it to be well written. Gone are the days when I can just keep reading a book even if it isn't so great. My "currently-reading" shelf is growing because of this change in me. SN's book are super engaging that I can't stop reading! Even if I only read a couple of chapters at a time now (unlike the one book/day pace) I am quickly drawn into the story. No dragging here. :)
