There's a perfect time for each book to be read. So when the next book in a series I'm avidly following finally comes out, I don't read it right away when I'm currently hang up on a different series.

Jason has been one of my favorite of the seven and I loved his story! His is such a sad history, but it makes the present-day story that more sweet! As much as I can't stand snakes, Neha has been an interesting archangel throughout the series so far. Seeing her up close doesn't make me like her though! Princess Mahiya is an amazingly complex character. She's presented as a "court trinket," but she has an inner strength that has helped her navigate Neha's court for her 307 years. I love the world of angel's and vampires that Nalini has created. The characters are so brilliant and complex that you get pulled into the story and intrench yourself in the characters.
Jason has been Archangel Raphael's trusted spymaster and one of his Seven for a long time and when he is called to another Archangel's territory to uncover a murderer he meets Princess Mahiya he is intrigued and puzzled by the woman who pulls him.

I hadn't read a book in this series in quite a while, but Nalini Singh has such of way of writing the worlds she's building and the characters in them that I didn't feel like I forgot anything along the way. She cleverly reminded me without rehashing the entire story.
