RE-READ REVIEW APR 2023
Because this is re-read and I thoroughly reviewed the book's happenings in my initial review, I'll take this time to say, DAMN, I love this series and I'm so sad it's over. One of the best aspects of this series is the growth of Jane's character. Faith introduces some of the most intriguing side characters throughout. I'm very hopeful she'll create a new spin-off/same-world series; there was mention of a possibility, so YAY!

huuummmmm. I think so far the only reason that I keep reading is so I can read all of the carnage and beast's perspective. It's fairly interesting, and an overall realistic point of view. The Cherokee aspect improved in this installment.
One thing though, what the hell happened to wrastler? Was his name changed to troll? Urrrggg I don't want to have to read the first 4 books again!!!!!
Okay that is cleared up quickly, and we're rewarded with a few characters from previous books. It's a big hooray ...more

I gave up on this series last year, but after running out of things to read in the UF genre, I decided to revisit it. I still don't love it, but I didn't hate it either.

As has been the case with the whole series, there are some continuity problems. It is hard to keep track of events.
Update: that was true in several bits, the whole series appears to have been written in a hurry. Some of the minor characters are rather throwaway, too. But I still thoroughly enjoy each one. Imaginative, full of a sense of history and of spirituality, these are definitely well on the top end of the UF market.

ooh wee At first I was a little miffed because Rick was put out of the picture so easily- have no fear he shows back up- I don't think it's a spoiler to say there is no HEA there.

I love Jane! I love Beast! Gimme more, please! One of the best series out there!
