It's good but not great. Regardless, I did actually enjoy the book.
It's a paranormal romance and as such, it follows the formula all too well. Unless this is your first foray into the land of PnR, you know basic storyline.

Not as good as I'd hoped. (view spoiler) That said, I'm going to give the series another chance and read the next book, Night Reigns, when it comes out. If for no other reason, I want to see how the cliffhanger from Darkness Dawns plays out.

I found it unoriginal. The characters a little bland and what little action/excitement it has was very much predictable. Although it redeemed it self a little towards the end and I'm a little curious of their leader Seth. He's a tad like Acheron. Powerful, enigmatic and mysterious. I'd like to read his story which I'm sure he'll have his own HEA.

Ok... another series for me to get hooked to! :)
I did really enjoy this, in ways it reminds me of Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunters. Seth has a decidedly Acheron feel to him. It is different enough to stand on it's own and I think it has a lot of potential. I will be continuing with these, quite happily!
I didn't even make it past the first page before deciding I liked it. The world is interesting, the characters are fascinating, the twists and plot I enjoyed, lots of action. It has a bit of every ...more

Pnr- i liked it quite a bit. We get introduced to quite a few other Guardians. I'm looking forward to reading their love stories. We just start getting interested in Amiriska when poof! Roland and Sarah ride off into the sunset together and... The end
