This book was so many genres all rolled into one! Crime, suspense, thriller, urban fantasy. It was really good & kept me guessing all the way through.

I haven't read a story set in this world that I haven't loved. Briggs continues to develop her world with each book, and in a way that's seamless with the story being told.

In the latest installment, the werewolves are still trying to put their best foot forward to the public, and Charles has been busier than ever being the wolves' enforcer, which puts a strain on him and his relationship with Anna.

Patricia Briggs is one of my favorite authors and one of the few I'll shell out hardcover $s for. I've loved Anna and Charles's story from the beginning and this one was no exception. Anna and especially Charles are in a bit of a rocky place during this story. But while they really needed to communicate, their love and respect for each other still was evident. It's been a couple of years since I read the last book in this series. This was so good. I love Charles and Anna, and I loved seeing the growth in their relationship. The story was powerful.
