I have to admit for some reason I wasn't expecting too much out of Nicko's book, but I was very happy with the end result. The overall plot didn't really move forward too much (we are more focused on the couple in this story). I really liked the female lead, Renata, probably one of my top picks out of all the Breedmates in the series so far. Her and Nicko's initial introduction to eachother was great (he was definitely blown away by her). I really liked how she is able to hold her own in combat

Veil of Midnight, Bk #5 of the Midnight Breed series, follows along the same type of storyline as previous books. The Warriors, headed up by Lucan, are trying to stop Dragos from unleashing his army of Gen One vampires on an unsuspecting world.
Hero of this episode is Nikolai, one of our favorites from previous books, he is a self-confessed adrenaline junkie, maveric, combat obsessed all around good guy, who of course doesn't want a mate.

Loved this book I think its been the best yet. Renata character has been my favorite yet also she is such a strong women and I think out of all the breedmates her power is the coolest she could shock a vampire where he stands and kill him thats awesome.Niko oh I love his character his character is charming and dangerous and funny and sexy all at the same time. Mira I love that little girl but her ability must suck to be able to predict the future. Though there where scenes where i wanted to cry

3.5 Stars. Don't know why I didn't like this as much as the first 4 books. It seemed to be missing something. & I don't feel the connection between Niko and Renata for some reasons. :-(
