I think I'm in the minority for this but I wasn't too crazy about this book. We had such a long wait, the last book was already a bit dull, and then after all my excitement over finally getting to read Hunter's story we get this.

Here's my problem. Hunter never had a normal life, he is not very open about his relationships with others, he is a little closed off. I wanted a mate for him to have Mira's personality! No, I don't think it should've been her specifically, but someone like her. 3.5 Stars

Here's my problem. Hunter never had a normal life, he is not very open about his relationships with others, he is a little closed off. I wanted a mate for him to have Mira's personality! No, I don't think it should've been her specifically, but someone like her. She brings out a softer side of him, a side that can have fun and relax and just enjoy life.

In the choice of Corinne as his mate, well, she is damaged. She is a breedmate that was held prisoner by Dragos for a really long time, and forced into sex, and even pregnancy with the Gen One they were using for breeding to create Dragos's army. She was also separated from her own child at birth. She has been through a lot. And for most of the book I felt that she was just using Hunter to further her own goals, not necessarily for love.

Yeah, eventually I did feel a connection between them, but it didn't have the same feel to me. So that's my two cents about their relationship. And, one question that came to mind is "How many Gen Ones did Dragos have?" Because I thought there was one that was being used for breeding with the females, and if that's the case, and Hunter is also the son of the Gen One, would his father have been the one that had raped Corinne for years and actually gotten her pregnant? Would her child be Hunter's brother? I'm hoping he had other Gen Ones and this is not the case because I couldn't get that picture out of my mind while reading!

OK, now Sterling Chase... I feel for him. He has reached rock bottom. In a way I think his story is going in almost the same direction as Tegan's, except his mate sounds really spunky! I can't wait to read it and see what happens, I'm really excited about it.

In general this book felt really slow, it dragged a bit and I found myself bored at times. I do hope Chase's will be awesome! ...more

After being slightly disappointed in the last book I was hoping that this one would be really good especially as I really wanted to read Hunter's story and I'm very happy to say that I was not disappointed.
Hunter has always been a mysterious character and I've wanted to know all about him ever since he joined the Order a few books back, and I think he was paired perfectly with Corinne.

Here we are, 9 books in and we finally get Hunter’s story. Hunter is a Breed male created to be a warrior for the evil Dragos. Not really one of my favorites... the whole situation was waaay too weird.. I like Hunter and I think he deserves to be happy even more than the others, that being said, why did he have to pick Corinne?
I mean... she had a baby with Hunter's father, even the Gen One can't really be counted as a father, and now Hunter's gonna be the boy's stepdaddy??.... and, of course, half brother.
