Book two of the midnight breed's wasn't holding my attention well. It could have been that I was reading it alongside China Mieville's The Scar, but I really don't think that was the problem. The book as action, romance, but is missing suspense and humor not to mention some good sex scenes. Quick Take: A solid sequel that seems to outdo its predecessor. There's a lot of well-crafted action and intrigue here; this series now has my full attention.

This book was better than the first in the series but it was still very pedestrian. The hero was a hunk of a guy with commitment issues and the heroine was a beautiful woman haunted by her past. Hmmm...where have I heard that before?
I didn't feel any chemistry between the characters and didn't see how they fell in love so quickly. Although Dante said he loved her without the blood bond, I really don't know how that's possible when the bond was created on his side from the beginning and all his ...more
